Diamond Carat Size & Weight Value - Beyond the 4Cs | Forevermark

The Standard 4Cs: Carat

CARAT RELATES TO WEIGHT, NOT SIZE.

One carat (1ct) equals 0.20 grams and is divided into 100 points, so a half-carat (0.50 carat) diamond is also known as a 50 points diamond. Two diamonds with the same carat weight can appear to be different sizes. The greater the diamond’s carat weight, the more rare it is. As a result, the value of a diamond increases disproportionately to its carat weight, excluding other quality factors.

For example, a one carat diamond costs more than twice the price of a half carat diamond. No diamond is valued on its carat weight alone – two diamonds of equal carat weight may be valued differently depending on their other characteristics.  Forevermark chooses diamonds based on their beauty, never compromising quality for carat size.

Forevermark diamonds are available from .14 carats upwards, assuming all other quality criteria have been met.

The Standard 4cs: CUT

Forevermark diamonds are cut to the standard ‘Very Good’ or above.
