The Mark of Integrity - Conflict Free Diamonds | Forevermark | Forevermark

The Mark of Integrity

At the heart of every Forevermark diamond lies an enduring commitment to integrity.

From the moment a Forevermark diamond is unearthed, it is tracked and monitored at each stage of its journey to ensure conflict free diamonds that are [internal hyperlink to Conflict Free section] untreated and completely natural.

Because integrity in our business is as important as the integrity of our diamonds, as part of our CSR (corporate social responsibility), we ensure that all employee and communities from diamond producing areas benefits from legal, safe and responsible business practices.

At Forevermark, our most important promise is that every Forevermark diamond is a conflict free diamond.

We begin by ensuring that every one of our sources of Forevermark diamonds complies with the Kimberley Process, an international monitoring system co-founded by the De Beers Group of Companies with the aim of eliminating the trade in conflict diamonds.

More than this, we assess the prevailing standard of human rights, the political climate and the socio-economic profile of every community that might be a source of Forevermark diamonds.

Only when we are satisfied on all of these fronts do we approve a mining source as being an eligible source for Forevermark diamonds.

At the Forevermark Diamond Institute, each diamond undergoes rigorous testing to ensure that it is completely natural and untreated.

Highly experienced diamond graders detect and reject any diamond that has been treated to enhance its appearance, or synthesized using high pressure or vapour deposition. Helped by technology developed over many years by the De Beers Group of Companies, including state-of-the-art instruments such as DiamondSureTM, DiamondViewTM, and DiamondPlusTM, they can detect any clarity or color enhancements, including laser drilling, fracture filling and color coating.

Only those diamonds verified as completely natural and untreated can earn the Forevermark inscription.

Forevermark diamonds must not be included in jewelry pieces that include synthetic or treated diamonds.

The Forevermark Diamond Institute

Forevermark diamonds are tested, authenticated and inscribed at the Forevermark Diamond Institute, which has set its own high standards in the accuracy and consistency of diamond grading. Our expert team uses meticulous, standardised processes, bespoke software and proprietary grading instruments to create an accurate and consistent profile of each diamond. To add precision, accuracy and consistency, they also use a system of sub-grades for color and clarity.

Each Forevermark diamond must pass these tests at least five times before it can be inscribed with the Forevermark icon and unique identification number.

Witness the extraordinary journey of each Forevermark diamond as it travels from mine to jeweler, meeting strict integrity and quality criteria at every step.

Follow the Forevermark Diamond Journey.

The Forevermark Integrity Requirements set out what is expected from the partners that we engage to help bring a Forevermark diamond to you: the experts who cut and polish Forevermark diamonds (known as Authorized Forevermark Diamantaires [link to Diamantaires page]); the Authorized Forevermark Manufacturers who feature Forevermark diamonds in Forevermark jewellery; and the Authorized Forevermark Jewellers who present Forevermark jewellery to you.

All of our partners must maintain a good and honest business reputation, never misrepresent synthetic, treated, or simulated stones as natural diamonds, and never submit Forevermark diamonds to any form of enhancement or artificial treatment. To ensure that Forevermark Diamantaires meet the Forevermark Integrity Requirements for example, relevant verifications are undertaken by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), the largest independent third party auditor in the world and a specialist in ethical supply chains.
